This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 17, 2008:
The practice of yoga.
If I had not found this method of deepening connection with the largeness of life, love, liberty, loquatiousness ....well no not loquatiousness....always had that...trying to be clever here with all the 'lliteratives.....uh...
Essentially, if I had not found a way of deepening this connection to Life, I would have remained alone with only my cigarettes and alcahol and drugs for company....my lungs and liver would have rotted out by now..... and if I were not dead, I'd be as good as.
Om nama Shivaya

jon –
yoga has similarly saved my life. high mountain hikes too. and meditation. and love- the friend kind and the lover kind and the every kind.
yoga is still deepening me and opening me everyday. your simple words here reinforce that notion.
thanks.

Sounds like you had a good weekend with your yoga? How amazing that we can say practices like these have saved our lives & enriched us so much. So glad that Yoga has enriched you (and through you, so many others!) Blessings, Jon.
Hi Jon the great !!
..i can very well understand when you say ” The practice of yoga “, because i have
many good friends here who are deeply devoted to their daily ritual of Yoga without which
they feel lost !!….even though i am in the birth place of Yoga-India i somehow am not able
to get around to practice it …nevertheless , i regularly read books and articles on
Yoga….you will not believe me , but let me disclose that when i come across the word
Yoga in any form , three names flash across my mental frame instantly ,They are–
Patanjali , B K S Iyengar and , and , hold your breath…our own lovely J o n !!!…..long live
Jon i and many , nay, innumerable friends in Gaia love you and admire you for all that you
are!!!……may your tribe increase !!…….
love and blessings
jagadish
ps : BTW i also belong to IYENGAR community !!!
I love yoga too. my mat is over there on the floor. I leave it there so I won't forget. Sometimes I forget and sometimes I don't want to do it. Sometimes I force myself and I just get through it and sometimes I make myself do it and it is the most wonderful thing.
Yeah…always do it, whatever..it is its own reward.
